A smile makeover contest valued at over $15,000 is over and the winner has lots to smile about.
Dr. Ryan Reeves of Aesthetic Dentistry of Lorton held the major contest over the last four months, one that garnered droves of contestants from Lorton, VA and the Washington, DC areas.
The winner is Patricia Kilroy, a local resident. She is elated at winning the smile makeover contest and has her appointment booked to get her new smile.
“At first I did not even believe I won the contest.” says Kilroy. “I was so blown away with the news. Words just can’t describe how I feel.”
She has spent the last while looking at pricing a new smile. Then she heard about the contest. So she entered.
“I never thought I would win, but I gave it a shot.” she says. “Sure enough, I just got a call from Dr. Reeves who told me I am getting a new smile.”
Kilroy is impressed with the professional staff at Aesthetic Dentistry of Lorton. “I found the staff very professional and approachable, and they certainly made me feel right at home.”

Dr. Reeves knows that there are many people out there who can’t afford the dental care they require in order to have the true smile they need.
This is why the neuromuscular dentist offered the contest, which ended on June 21, 2010.
“This will be a life-changing experience for Patricia.” says Dr. Reeves during an interview from his office. “I am glad to reach out to our local communities (Lorton and Washington) as it’s my may of giving back and helping others like Patricia.”
“Simply put, Patricia will have a new smile and so many will notice it.”
Dr. Reeves cares about those in his community.
“Dental care of this nature can be very costly.,” he says. “The real pleasure I got from this contest stems form the fact that I am helping educate others about the importance of proper dental care while at the same time giving the winner a fresh start on life.”
Dr. Reeves is no stranger to giving back to others. He recently fitted Iman Achhal with a sport orthotic, called The Pure Power Mouthguard. Achhal was once homeless in Annandale and now is a rising star in the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) world. The Pure Power Mouthguard (elite version) costs $2,000.00 and Reeves provided the device to Achhal for free in order to help her out.
The Pure Power Mouthguard is a device that aligns an athlete’s jaw. When the jaw is in its optimal position, an athlete’s performance significantly improves. Research now proves that a proper bite enhances strength, balance, flexibility and oxygen flow.
To achieve this kind of efficiency, athletes who are interested in using the Pure Power Mouthguard must be fitted by specially trained and licensed dentists, such as Dr. Reeves. The New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts are using the device. As well, notable athletes like Shaq O’Neil, Cleveland Cavilers, Suzann Pettersen, LPGA star, Josh Brown, St. Louis Rams, and Scott McCarron and Steve Elkington, PGA, are also using the Pure Power Mouthguard. Dr. Anil Makkar, a Canadian Dentist, invented the Makkar Pure Power Moughtguard.
Dr. Reeves is a graduate of the Las Vegas Institute (LVI) for Advanced Dental Studies. He is also a member of the following prominent organizations: The Virginia Dental Association, the International Association for Comprehensive Aesthetics, the American Dental Association, the Association of General Dentistry, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society.
