For Your Comfort

Lorton dentistry

At Aesthetic Dentistry of Lorton we take pride in giving our patients comprehensive, individualized care. Part of this care includes making you feel comfortable from the moment you walk through our door. Before your appointment you may sit back, relax and enjoy a bottle of water, tea, or coffee while watching our large flat screen TV in our reception area. Throughout the office and treatment rooms Sirius satelite radio plays in the background. For an added touch, you may request a blanket and pillow to use. For our patients receiving treatment in our neuromuscular room, we also have a large flatscreen TV for you to watch your favorite cable programs.

Comfort and technology go hand in hand. In the list below you can find out about the many technologically advanced systems we use to provide you with the very best quality in care.

CEREC

Lorton dentistry

Our office is proud to offer CEREC (Chair side Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics). We use CEREC to create beautiful, natural, and extremely durable ceramic restorations. After conventional preparation, your tooth will be coated with a reflective powder. CEREC uses a state-of-the-art digital 3D camera to get accurate measurements for a digital impression. That means you do not have to wait while a tray of impression material hardens in your mouth. A precisely shaped impression is then diamond-cut out of ceramic material and bonded to your tooth. Now you can have restorations with a natural look and feel - all in one visit!

Diagnodent

Lorton cosmetic dentistry

Our office is proud to use Diagnodent, a laser detection system that has the ability to detect hidden decay under seemingly intact tooth structure. The Diagnodent scans the area with a laser light that is harmless. The laser detects the hidden decay and grades it using a numeric scale, allowing our team to diagnose the proper treatment necessary to prevent further decay. The Diagnodent is a small, portable unit, safe for the patient, and unparalleled in accuracy.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays are images that are taken digitally and loaded into a computer file especially for a specific patient. The advantages of digital x-rays include exposure to lower radiation (using up to 85% less radiation of traditional x-rays). They can also be enlarged to the full size of a computer screen, allowing the doctor to have improved viewing ability for analysis and diagnosis.

Intra Oral Camera

Intraoral cameras are tiny digital cameras that fit comfortably in your mouth and enable your dentist to show you an enlarged image of your smile on a computer screen. Not only does this help during diagnosis with clearly defined images that show details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations, it can also be an educational tool, allowing you see the inside of your mouth and confront problems or review procedures as they progress. Your personal images can be saved right on your dentist’s computer to provide a permanent record of care.

Laser Dentistry

An unattractive smile is not only embarrassing, it affects confidence and self-esteem. To keep your smile healthy and attractive, start with the gums. Periodontal disease is the leading cause of tooth loss and has been linked to heart disease, stroke and premature and low birth weight babies. Periodontal laser therapy treats the disease more effectively and comfortably than ever, removing scar tissue in periodontal pockets, killing bacteria causing the disease and promoting the reattachment of the gum to tooth.
